2 Corinthians 1:12
King James Version
12 For our rejoicing is this,
the testimony of our conscience,
that in simplicity and godly sincerity,
not with fleshly wisdom,
but by the grace of God,
we have had our conversation in the world,
and more abundantly to you-ward.
What is compelling material?
It's the kind that makes you go, "WOW!"
It's the kind that glues your reader to what you've written.
It's the kind that produces positive action, toward the action you designed your material for.
Pretend God is your coach (and I hope He really is), and you will write lovingly, and respectfully.
Care about your reader.
Write simply, and clearly.
If you're into creative writing, it could be humorous, even crazy.
If you're into professional writing, all the more keep it clear, simple, and factual -- but not boring.
Short bursts of information help.
Like bullet points.
Enumerate, by numbering your ideas.
Keep the numbers low.
We wouldn't want to make our readers throw up.
Insert at least one appropriate image.
Your image must match the tone, and content.
I know you know what I mean.
Everything has to be consistent, and appropriate.
Simple, and direct.
Pretend wee're all writing for busy folks.
Because we just might be.
It's the digital age, people get distracted easily.
We're only given nano-seconds to compel our readers to pay attention.
Why not with a cool, short, memorable title?
Make it easy to understand.
Remember...nano seconds...
More on the total package on the next post.
